Happy birthday, Uncle Inky!

I have been promising to post again for what seems like forever.  I lost my MoJo after my daughter's death in Dec of 2011 and it has been very hard to get it back.  I keep promising myself I will start blogging again, and I mean it when I say it, but for whatever reason, it doesn't happen.  I had a different blog up until my daughter's death, and I deleted it.  There was so much on that blog that hurt my heart to read and view again.  So, here I am with a  new blog... taking baby steps.  :)

Here is a card that I mailed to my Uncle in celebration of his birthday later this week.  A simple yet masculine card.  I am still trying to figure out the photo situation so this is somewhat of a test to see if it displays.  Keeping my fingers crossed...

Enjoy the rest of your day!

djkardkreations: Cheers! Stamplorations GD!

WOW!  How thrilled I am to merely be mentioned on this blog that I follow!  What a lovely idea to introduce her new followers.  I have to say, however, that it put the shame on me when I noticed that I haven't posted on my blog since Jan 2014.  This puts the pressure on to start blogging what I produce.  : )

Tomorrow will be the day that I add a new post.  Now that I have made the commitment for all to see, I won't put it off.  Stay tuned!!!  Thank you, Darnell, I am absolutely...

Prima Donna

Hope everyone is staying warm with all these cold temps running rampant.  It's been so cold here that I have had the craft room shut off for the past couple of days.  Not a lot of creating going on here until the temps get above the freezing point.  With nothing better to do, I have been glued to Blogger.  I found this card that I just had to case.  Michelle's is prettier than mine but I'm ok with that!  : )  I spent too much time on this card, just trying to get the flowers "just right".  It will definitely go to someone special.  : )

Here is my spin on Michelle's card.  I used My Favorite Things - Prima Donna Petals; Flower and Leaf Trio, and Papertrey Inks - Beautiful Blooms II dies for the flowers.  I added washi tape underneath the flowers (like Michelle) and some brads in the center of three of the flowers.  No card escapes my craft room without Stickles on it... ever. I used the "hello" die cut from Technique Tuesday and called it a wrap.  I've been wanting to use this particular washi tape since I bought it so the entire card was planned around my pretty washi tapes.  : )

I have some other things to post a little later that I did over the holidays.  Ta ta for now...

Bleach Technique

Man, has it been cold today!  Weather forecast is calling for single digit temps over the next few days.  I probably won't leave my craft room until the weather breaks.  *smile*

I was able to crank out one card today.  I am so far behind on my Bloglovin and Blogger feeds that I may never get caught up.  I have no particular person to send this card to (yet) but I'm sure I will find a home for it soon.  I saw The Paper Loft November sketch and knew I had to create a card based on that sketch.  I was thrilled that I was able to find a use for a flower that I had used the "bleach technique" to create.  I've been saving that silly flower for years.

It's past time for me let my oh-so-patient Boo Boo Boobity Boo Boo outside.  He's such a good little ShihTzu!  I need to find and press the preheat button on my electric blanket before we go out.  The morning temp is supposed to be like 19 in the morning.  Fibro and cold temps don't mix too well.  ANYway,  I hope you had a blessed day today.  If you did, I would love to hear about your blessing.  : )  Stay warm...

That's important to me

As I begin this effort to Blog in 2014, I want to disclose the following.  I do not have any desires to have any cards published.  I am not looking for any type of recognition.  I have no goal of having the entire (or even half of it) free world to follow me.  With that said, please feel free to "follow" me if you wish. *smile*

My goal here is:
  1. To keep track of the items that I/we create (and for who we created it for).
  2. Create something for my Grands to possibly look back on when the day comes that we can't be together again.
I am a simple person that desires a simple life and enjoys the simple things in this world.  Simply said (no pun intended) "It's the small things that mean the most to this heart."  Having lost a daughter just over two years ago (12/17/11), I know what is important {to me} in this short life here on earth.  It isn't money, fame or a treasure chest of worldly items.  Knowing that my son and my grandchildren have happy hearts; that's important to me.  Knowing that the ones I love know that my love is unconditional; that's important to me.  Spending every moment available with the ones I love; that's important to me.  Saying "I love you" whenever the opportunity presents itself;  yep... that's important to me.  Most of all, if I can show forgiveness, mercy, grace, empathy and a Christ like love to others, then I have accomplished all that is important to me during my walk here on earth.
